One of the precious memories I will always remember of my sister (Charlene Butler-Ellis), is how she loved people by sending them gifts even though she was confined to a hospital bed. She could not take the gifts, so she would send the gifts. This was her testimony of the love of God in her.
During this season of loss, God gave me a profound message, about Him, "Take Love Up A Notch”. He showed me through illness or health, we can still love up. I was reminded no matter what comes, love conquers all, and does not fail (1 Corinthians 13:8).
God is the originator of love. And Jesus Christ demonstrated the greatest gift of love for all (John 3:16), so that we can have a right relationship with God. The message is to exalt God (Psalms 145:1). The message is to lift Christ (1 John 12:32). We can love because God first loved us (1 John 4:19).
Take Love Up A Notch makes the love of God experiential. It is love in action, demonstrating who we belong too. We are new creatures with new nature (2 Corinthians 5:17), therefore we have the power to show love through Christ. Let the light of Christ shine so that the world can see, there is a Holy God in you and me!
